Wisdom of the Waterfalls

For people who arecalled to Buddhism, Sufism, Christian mysticism, the Kabbalah, there are human-built temples, ancient sacred texts, direct lineages of transmission.
For some of us, there are no texts, only bare remnants of built temples, and no human direct lineage. For us, we feel the lineage in our bones and hear the call of our ancestors at the sacred places on the earth. I'm fortunate to live in the Finger Lakes of New York, surrounded by waterfalls sculpted through the eons with the dance between rock and water.
These places are sacred to the creatures who gather and grow there, and to the kindred spirits who are drawn there without quite being able to say why.

There is a clear, tender energy that lives underneath the sound of falling water at these waterfalls. They have become the temples of my devotion to our Mother Earth and the Eternal. They have become my teacher, and from them I am beginning to learn, and remember, a relationship with the Spirit world that is not transactional but devout. I bring what I have and receive what is given with an open heart.

Occasionally, when the time is right, something moves through me to share with the world.

It is not a teaching, nor content to be consumed, but a transmission that pierces the veil. It arrives the way water moves through stone — following nature's rhythms and laws of nature and forces we do not fully comprehend but can live in awe of.

I trust that when they come through, the time is right and the people who need to hear them will hear the call.
