One day this Spring after a deluge, my husband and I were walking a trail not far from our home, one we rarely bothered hiking. I was recovering from treatment, moving slowly, catching my breath on a steep hill, when I heard it. The unmistakable rush and tumble of a waterfall that I never knew was there.

I followed the sound down a narrow deer path through the trees, and found her — a beautiful cascade waterfall throwing up drops that caught the light. Yum. I knew I needed to come back alone and commune.

The next day Iclambered down into the gorge and sat at the base of the falls and asked, what she wanted to transmit.

The answer was clear: Oh, no, that’s not how this works. Come back every day this week and we’ll see.

And so, I came back every day. Some days I talked, some days I listened and delighted in the sounds of nature and the energy of the place. By the end of the week I no longer cared whether any transmission ever came through. I had become my sit spot, a place
for my soul to rest, exhale and hear itself.

I’ve been coming all summer, just bringing what I could offer; flowers picked along the way, wild blackberries from the bushes lining the avenue, a song when I had nothing physical to bring, a poem read from my phone when I couldn't remember the words. Each time I paused at the two trees that mark the entrance and asked, with reverence, to be received.

Then on the latest new moon, I arrived feeling tender and soft and little sheepish because I had been a poor devotee during smoke-filled skies and searing heat, and yet heard very distinctly: Now it's time.

I nestled into the little crook of stone at the top of the cascade and recorded what wanted to come through – a transmission from the eternal soon followed by a second. I knew to wait until the full moon for it to come to ripeness and share. So, I went back during the full moon and recorded some audio to orient you to the place, and yourself, before entering the temple. It was raining so you’ll hear
the ping-ping-ping of the droplets in the background.

WHO THIS IS FOR

This transmission is for you if you’re weary of not knowing what comes next — and yet sense, deep down, that you’re being pulled toward something. If you’ve learned, or are learning, that the way forward is not to be found by forcing but by following
that inner longing. If you’re willing to be told not yet. If you can sit with what you don't understand and trust that your body and soul know what to do with it even when your mind does not.
